Shirley

bio

Shirley is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and has worked at Compass Centre for over 25 years.  In that time she has seen significant changes in the field of sexual and reproductive health, including improved access to many services. Before moving into the Team Leader position, she spent fifteen years working frontline as the Counselling Outreach Coordinator. Besides counselling individual clients she facilitated workshops in schools and the community and trained other professionals in the area of sexual health education. Shirley is constantly inspired by the passion of Compass Centre staff/volunteers as they work towards creating a community that is well informed, inclusive and sex-positive.

Shirley can often be found, camera in hand, exploring the extensive trail system in Edmonton’s beautiful river valley.
