Tamar

bio

Tamar is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) who has worked and volunteered in the Edmonton community for over 10 years. Before becoming a staff member at Compass Centre for Sexual Wellness, Tamar volunteered for the organization for many years. She has a wide range of experience from child and youth care and supporting families to outreach with folks experiencing homelessness. Tamar is passionate about social justice, harm reduction, comprehensive education, as well as working one-on-one with folks providing supportive listening, information and resources they need to be healthy. She is excited about how comprehensive sexual health counselling and education promotes informed and enthusiastic consent. Tamar acknowledges that she is a visitor on Treaty 6 territory and strives to live and work in a way that reflects and honours that. When not at work Tamar enjoys playing in bands, supporting arts and culture, cooking and eating delicious food and spending time with family and friends.
